The more energy you spend focusing on others, the less you have to reflect upon yourself. Do you understand this?
Buddha is not an idol, but the fruit of life's spiritual practice. It is not necessary to burn incense or bow; Buddha resides within the heart, not outside the body. Buddha is one who has already traveled the path, while humans are future Buddhas. Buddha is Buddha because he saw through the patterns that others could not and did the things others could not do; humans remain human because they are entangled in emotions and desires, unable to see clearly or break free. If one can achieve sudden enlightenment and learn contentment, we can all become Buddhas.
How can one maintain vitality? It lies in staying curious and always feeling there is more to discover: behind every ordinary event, there may lie a mystery of the universe; every encounter with an ordinary person is a profound lesson; and you yourself are an unknown variable with infinite space for transformation.
Past failures and hardships, when looked back upon, become wealth that allows the soul to grow unconsciously. Each ordeal is a sublimation, adding another precious treasure to the vessel of your life.
