Water reaches the ocean because it skillfully avoids obstacles, constantly turning and squeezing through crevices. Many smart people fail because they refuse to turn back even when they hit a wall. In life, difficulties are inevitable; learning to pivot and detour is a wise approach. When the mountain won't turn, the road will; when the road won't turn, the person must. When your mindset shifts, adversity can become opportunity. Learning to adapt is a great way to move forward.
To see is not necessarily to understand; to understand is not necessarily to accept; to accept is not necessarily to let go; and to let go is not necessarily to be able to pick up again. Life is like being in a fog—every step is hardship, every hardship is accompanied by pain, and every pain is a difficult hurdle. Only when the heart truly feels pain can it truly become indifferent and let go. To pick up again, one needs both courage and strength.
Dignity stems from the spirit of never bowing to power or acting subservient. "Be poor like tea, with a hint of fragrance amidst the bitterness; be proud like an orchid, with an air of frost." Dignity does not depend on origin or wealth, appearance or position; it is sacred and inviolable. Society is reciprocal—only by respecting others can we win respect.
Life is like the four seasons. While we place our hope in heaven and the stars, we must also personally walk through the wind and rain to enjoy the sweet fruits that belong to us.
