No matter how well you do, there will always be critics; even when you stumble, there will be those who sing your praises. Do not dwell on external judgments, do not be trapped by the eyes of others, and never distort yourself just to please the world.
People strive upward, just as water flows downward. Only by climbing higher can you see further; only with a clear goal can you find your direction in life.
Dharma is a way of living; it is not found solely in scriptures or temples, but in the very fabric of our daily lives.
Viewing the world with a calm mindset brings more happiness. Angels fly because they see the world as light. The bitterness or joy of life depends on a single thought: life is bitter when we hold on too tightly, and joyful when we let go. Happy people cultivate a sense of equanimity—they do not pressure themselves, do not force others, and do not fight against the world. In non-contention lies peace; in lack of desire lies tranquility; in a broad mind lies eternal joy. Let calmness dissolve all troubles.
No matter how many sweet words are spoken, they pale in comparison to a single selfless act.
There are people who care for you regardless of your attention; cherish family. There are loves that give unconditionally; cherish true affection. There are friendships that exist whether you are in touch or not; cherish these bonds. And there is time, which slips away regardless of your efforts to hold on. May you cherish time like gold, and treasure every detail that time will inevitably take away.
