Some will praise you, and some will criticize you, but as long as you live with a clear conscience, there is no need to dwell on the judgments of others. When faced with disrespectful words, do not take them to heart or let them cause you distress; such words cannot change facts, but they can disturb your mind. For if the mind is unsettled, everything else will follow suit.
A person's character is revealed not in moments of calm, but in times of agitation; their rationality is shown not in tranquility, but amidst the clamor of many; their compassion is demonstrated not from a position of superiority, but when they are unheard; respect between partners is found not in leisure, but in moments of disagreement; and affection between spouses is not in romantic settings, but in times of great adversity.
Human interaction is actually quite simple. People are connected by fate, hearts connect through communication, love is shared through emotion, feelings are nurtured by sincerity, and errors are reconciled through forgiveness. Everyone has their own dignity and struggles, and everyone has different perspectives, methods, and ways of living. There is no need to try to change others; simply focus on being your best self.
When feeling weary, change your perspective on the world; when feeling oppressed, find a place to take a deep breath; when confused, think from a different angle; when hesitant, choose with a new mindset; when depressed, find joy in a new environment; when troubled, relieve it with a new way of thinking; when complaining, look at problems differently; when feeling inferior, change your attitude; when in sorrow, find your own way to let the tears flow.
Control your mood, and life will be harmonious. Although mood is not everything in life, it governs much of it. When the mood is good, all is well; when it is bad, everything falls into chaos. Many people lose not to others, but to their own emotions. A bad mood diminishes one's image, reduces one's ability, muddles one's thoughts, and weakens one's confidence, ultimately leading to losing against oneself.
