High School Inspirational Speech: The Need for a Spirit of Perseverance
Respected teachers and dear students,
Good morning!
Today, the subject of my speech is "The Spirit of Perseverance."
As we look up at the national flag fluttering in the sky and listen to the resonance of the bell in the autumn breeze, we carry hearts full of ambition, displaying our vigor on the sports field. Amidst the cheers and sweat, our school's 62nd Sports Meet concluded successfully last week. Autumn is the season of harvest. What have you harvested from this sports meet? Was it an improvement in athletic skill, a sense of unity and teamwork, or a vibrant spirit? All of these reflect the persevering spirit of the students of Tongzhong Middle School.
Perseverance is a process. Through it, we will not be driven to irrational joy or deep despair by the outcome. Perseverance is an asset. It helps us unleash our maximum potential during competition, much like the sea swallow experiencing the thrill of battling through stormy waves. Perseverance is also a state of mind—it is the drive to challenge ourselves at the finish line and the courage to sing out boldly in the face of life's challenges.
