Once upon a time, a mouse family consisting of a couple and their two sons lived in a forest. Since the mother was not very educated, she named the eldest son Damao and the second son Ermao.

One day, the brothers were sent out by their mother to gather berries. The lazy Damao grumbled as he plotted a scheme. He saw a turtle sister carrying many mulberries and decided to steal them to avoid working. Damao swiftly snatched the turtle's basket and fled, leaving the turtle sister crying bitterly in the clearing. Meanwhile, Ermao's basket was also full of berries. On the way home, Ermao heard crying and found the turtle sister. "What happened? Why are you crying so much?" Ermao asked concernedly. "My mulberries were stolen! They were meant for my sick mother. What should I do?" the turtle sister sobbed. Ermao looked at his own basket and gave all the berries to the turtle sister. "Thank you! Now I can go home and fulfill my duty," the turtle sister said gratefully.

Ermao, left empty-handed, worried about how to explain this to his mother, thinking, "I'll just take the scolding and gather more berries tomorrow."

"Quick, come in! Look at what's wrong with Dad!" As soon as he entered the house, Damao shouted anxiously. "Quickly, go to Mingqing Lake and pick some Baiye Grass!" the mother urged urgently. Thus, the brothers rushed to the lake. When Damao arrived, he realized he couldn't swim. He saw the turtle sister he had robbed and asked, "Hello, could you help me?" The turtle sister replied, "I remember you—the one who stole my things! Go away, I have nothing to say to you!" Frightened, Damao ran off. Ermao also arrived at the lake, but he also could not swim. Suddenly, a familiar voice spoke, "Hey, what's the matter?" It was the turtle sister! "I need to pick Baiye Grass for my mother, but I cannot swim. What should I do?" Ermao said anxiously. The turtle sister said, "No problem! Don't forget, I am the swimming champion of this lake. Watch me!" So, Ermao happily returned home with the grass collected by the turtle sister.

The story teaches us: Good people receive good rewards, and evil people will eventually face their consequences.
