Everyone has a name, which often carries the profound love and high expectations of parents. Every parent hopes their child will achieve success and enjoy good health, and I am no exception. My parents gave me an inspiring name—Tang Kaitian.
When my mother was pregnant, doctors predicted I would be born on January 1, 2000. My mother was overjoyed and couldn't wait for my father to choose a powerful name for the child arriving in the auspicious Millennium Dragon Year. After careful consideration, my father gave me a name intended to inspire me to become a pillar of society. Perhaps sensing these expectations, I was quite active in the womb; to avoid causing my mother discomfort, I arrived a little early on December 4, 1999.
As I grew older, I curiously asked my father about the meaning of my name. He explained earnestly that "Kaitian" carries the profound meaning of "opening up the heavens and earth," symbolizing the harmony between heaven and earth and carrying the hope that my life path will be smooth and that I will grow into an extraordinary talent.
While my name was a gift from my parents, the journey ahead belongs to me. I have made a silent vow to use this inspiring name as motivation to study hard, live up to my parents' expectations, and become a person of value to society and my country.
