Seeking rebirth in the Western Pure Land is far easier than seeking rebirth as a human in the next life. People often flee to the mountains to seek inner peace, escaping family, society, and their own problems. Yet, if one is seeking peace within the "heart," how can it be found in the "outside" world?
Watch your words; do not speak impulsively or carelessly just for momentary satisfaction. As the saying goes, "A kind word warms three winters, while a hurtful word chills a midsummer day." Speak with mindfulness and caution. Excessive words are often useless; by not exposing the faults of others, you can naturally turn enemies into friends.

We often do not know what we truly desire, which is why we constantly seek yet remain perpetually unsatisfied. Upon reaching a goal, we find it is not what we truly wanted, so we rush toward the next, only to find the same result. Through this method of searching, we will never attain what we truly desire, because that thing is not a goal or an outcome. Only when we cease all seeking can it finally come to us.
