Everyone craves success, but the journey toward it is often long and arduous. What is it that sustains us through this path? It is persistence.
Persistence is the cane that supports us as we climb the heights of success. No matter the circumstances, one must never give up; perhaps success awaits at the next crossroads. Even a tiny seed, fueled by persistent belief, can grow into a towering tree.
There is a story: Jean-Dominique Baubigny, a French journalist, suffered a heart attack that left him paralyzed and unable to speak. His only remaining movement was his left eye. However, he was determined to finish the book he had begun before his illness. A stenographer named Mendibaud was assigned as his assistant, working six hours a day to transcribe his thoughts. Mendibaud would read out the alphabet, and Baubigny would blink to select each letter. Since he had to rely on memory to form words, progress was initially very slow—at most one page a day—before eventually increasing to three pages. After months of intense effort, they finally completed the 150-page book titled "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly." It is estimated that Baubigny blinked his left eye over 200,000 times to complete this work.
If a person is persistent, nothing in this world is impossible. What we see as miracles are often the results of someone's day-to-day, year-after-year hard work and dedication. No matter the circumstances, never give up; as long as you do, success will always be within reach.
