Letting go of small gains allows for bigger achievements; letting go of the near allows for reaching the far. If life remained as it was at the first encounter, we would never experience success, failure, joy, or sorrow. Because we have nothing, we fear no loss; because we desire, we become anxious about gain and loss. In truth, Nothing in this world truly belongs to us; we are merely passing travelers, arriving with nothing and leaving with nothing. The length of life's channel is limited. To transport more water, increasing the width is not enough; one must also increase the depth and strengthen the density of the base and surroundings. To be alive is a blessing, and one should cherish it. Life is but a few decades; do not leave behind too many regrets. The sun rises in the East and sets in the West; there is sorrow and there is joy. If you do not dwell on trivialities, both your life and mind will be at peace. A calm mindset is a sign of maturity. Words once spoken without restraint and actions once taken without thought are eventually suppressed deep within the heart as we grow. As we mature and become sensible, our hearts inevitably become more complex. The more we obsess over things, the more troubles we encounter. It is precisely because of the dark sky that we can see the twinkling stars; the value of darkness is to highlight the brilliance of the stars. Perhaps we exist as the darkness to let the stars shine. To understand me, even when I say nothing. Please do not come too close, for I fear we might grow weary of each other, as fates come and go; but please do not wander too far, for I fear we might become strangers, never to meet again.
