Youth is a symbol of vitality, embodying wisdom, courage, and willpower. With these qualities, we possess the bravery to overcome fear and the audacity to take risks. Youth fills us with anticipation for the future, empowering us to face challenges head-on and enjoy the thrill of life's journey.
As beautifully expressed: youth is the sky of fifteen, the flowering season of sixteen, the colors of seventeen... a poetic blend of blossoms and sunshine.
However, reality often brings an endless mountain of homework. A single oversight can lead to poor exam results, bringing not only reprimands from parents and teachers but also the pressure of endless tutoring classes. Faced with this, we often can only endure in silence. Elders say we should repay our parents' hard work with excellent grades. But while the parents' sacrifices are acknowledged, our struggles are often overlooked. Carrying such immense expectations, we sometimes feel truly exhausted.
Some parents focus excessively on grades while forgetting to teach the most essential skill: self-care. Many children lack life skills not because they are lazy, but because their parents tell them, "Just focus on your studies; don't worry about chores." This overprotection can leave students struggling to live independently once they leave home. I have a friend who is a prime example; despite decent grades, her inability to manage daily life makes her struggle significantly.
In contrast, many cultures emphasize independence earlier, such as encouraging young adults to support themselves by age 18. Some parents, however, continue to provide everything. While intended as love, this can unintentionally weaken a child's ability to function in society and hinder their growth.
Because we have youth, we stand at a new starting line every day, ready for new challenges. Because we have youth, we can chase our dreams with passion. Because we have youth, we do not fear failure and believe that everything can start anew. Everyone has their own youth, and our youth should be shaped by our own hands!
