Do not hold onto resentment or anger, nor should you dwell on past setbacks. Whether it is fortune or misfortune, one must face it; whether it is good or bad, it will all pass. Beautiful memories have accompanied me through life's storms, etching themselves into the flow of time, passing gently while nourishing both the present and the future. One must learn to pick things up and, more importantly, how to let them go. Believe that while the passing years may age our faces, they enrich our lives. The value of youth lies not in the time itself, but in a heart full of courage and passion—a heart unafraid of being hurt, of giving, of loving, and of dreaming.
Time in life is neither "the grass on the plain withering and blooming each year, only to regrow with the spring breeze," nor is it "the swallow from the old royal palace flying into the homes of commoners." Instead, it is like "the sun setting behind the mountains and the Yellow River flowing into the sea"—once gone, it never returns. Understanding this truth allows us to truly cherish life.
Calm weather is pleasant, and a calm personality is graceful. Being calm means being elegant on the outside and wise on the inside. There is no need for intensity to stand out; one can stand firm through authenticity and treat others with tolerance. Excessive emotions and internal conflict only drain one's vitality. Learn to let go of trivialities and face the noise of the world with composure. In this life, a peaceful mind is paramount. Living with a tranquil heart allows worries to vanish. When we learn to enjoy the journey, life becomes joyful. To gain is to give: to give a smile is to gain friendship; to give tolerance is to gain character; to give honesty is to gain friends; to give up pride is to gain reality; to give up vanity is to gain freedom; to give to others is to gain a good reputation; and to let go is to gain peace.
Ordinariness is the theme of life, while brilliance is its embellishment. We cannot avoid the reality of being ordinary, nor should we indulge in fantasies of the future. Do not use one mistake to cover another, and do not dwell endlessly on past regrets. Only by forgiving your past self can you enjoy the joy of today. If others cannot forgive you, you must learn to forgive yourself.
