Heaven determines fate, but we shape our own destiny. By performing good deeds and accumulating virtue, what blessings could one not seek? All good deeds and hidden merits are created by the mind; by maintaining this heart, one gains immeasurable merit. For instance, modesty costs nothing. Those who are overly arrogant lack true potential and will find no lasting benefit. A person of insight will never narrow their own capacity or reject their blessings. Modesty allows for continuous learning and endless improvement; it is indispensable for those pursuing cultivation.

Life is, in essence, laughing at others and, in turn, letting others laugh with us. No matter how the drama of winners and losers unfolds on stage, the actors are eventually forgotten by time; nothing can withstand the passing years. Perhaps even time cannot resist human fickleness. The world is chaotic, yet we must face life with a smile. Once the curtain falls, we must return to the rhythm of ordinary life. The fundamental principles of humanity passed down through millennia should never change; only with a calm heart can one find eternal peace.

There are three types of people who are never satisfied: the wealthy, who always dream of earning more; the sick, who always long for some change; and the travelers, who always say, "Anywhere is fine, as long as it is not here."

Laozi said that when the hard teeth fall out, the soft tongue remains. Softness prevails over hardness, and non-action prevails over action. Learning to maintain a humble posture at the right time is not cowardice or avoidance, but a wise way of conduct—a manifestation of great wisdom and spiritual realm in life.
