As the saying goes, "Failure is the mother of success." While the words are easy to say, putting them into practice is quite challenging. I have experienced this firsthand.

It was during an art class when the teacher taught us how to make paper flowers. With skillful movements, the teacher transformed crepe paper and wooden chopsticks into lifelike blossoms. Watching the demonstration, I thought it looked incredibly simple and eagerly started my own attempt. However, the crepe paper that seemed so cooperative in the teacher's hands was unruly in mine; the petals kept sticking together. After several unsuccessful attempts, I looked at the vibrant flowers in my classmates' hands and then at the ugly paper clumps on my desk. I felt discouraged and thought about giving up. But then I thought, if my classmates can do it, I can too!

So, I summoned my courage to try again. This time, I realized the mistake: I had applied too much glue, causing the petals to stick together. Instead of spreading it all at once, I used my finger to apply small amounts of glue bit by bit. Finally, a beautiful paper flower bloomed in my hands. But before I could even celebrate, the flower collapsed with a rustle. Overwhelmed by disappointment, I threw it aside in frustration, thinking, "This is too hard, I'm done!"

After sitting in frustration for a few minutes, I watched my classmates working busily, and my determination returned. How could I give up now? Thomas Edison failed thousands of times before inventing the light bulb, yet he never quit. I had only failed twice—how could I surrender? I began to observe my classmates more closely and noticed they used paper strips to wrap around the flower base to prevent it from falling apart. I tried one more time, and this time, I succeeded! I proudly handed my work to the teacher, who praised me, saying, "Well done, an 'A' for you!" I felt immensely proud. Although it wasn't the most beautiful flower, to me, it was better than any other because it was a testament to my perseverance.

Indeed, failure is the mother of success. Failure itself is not scary; what is scary is losing confidence after a setback. I will learn from my failures and use them to pave a smoother path for my future.
