Letting go is a form of wisdom, and imperfection is a blessing. When you have six apples, do not consume them all at once, for even if you do, you only ever taste six apples. If you share five of them with others, though it seems you have lost five apples, you have actually gained the friendship and goodwill of five people. When others have other fruits, they will surely share them with you. You might receive an orange from one person and a pear from another, eventually gaining six different kinds of fruit and the friendship of six people. Thus, letting go is indeed a form of wisdom.
Rather than resisting established facts, it is better to accept them; this is what it means to accept one's fate.
