In a wasteland, grass grows rapidly, followed by shrubs, and then various trees; grass and shrubs vanish due to the lack of sunlight. Over long ages, pine trees emerge from beneath the shrubs, gradually surpassing them and standing tall for centuries. Humans are similar; some are like grass and shrubs, appearing to grow quickly but lacking endurance; others grow slowly, but like pine trees, they eventually become great talents.

When passion becomes a habit, fear and anxiety find no place to hide. Those lacking passion often lack clear goals; passion drives the wheels of imagination, and without it, a person is like a car without fuel. One who can balance work and leisure while maintaining passion is the happiest person. Passion makes even ordinary topics lively.

The heart is tea, and tea is the heart. A cup of clear tea reflects all things in the world. Buddhists see Zen, Taoists see Qi, Confucians see Ritual, and merchants see Profit. In the mortal world, tea cooling as a person leaves is a law of nature; tea cooling even when the person stays is the coldness of human relationships. Life is like tea: tasteless at first sip, bitter upon further tasting, and sweet after the bitterness. In essence, everything stems from the heart; when the heart is calm, the world is cool.
