When we are alone, we may feel empty and bored; when we live with others, various conflicts and unpleasant experiences may arise. Therefore, we often find ourselves learning to tolerate either ourselves or others. But why do both ourselves and others become something we have to reluctantly endure? This reveals a thought-provoking truth: There is still much room for improvement in human inner qualities. Perhaps the most practical path for a person is to continuously change and improve themselves, becoming more mature and easier to get along with, because changing others is often far more difficult than changing oneself.
We can see the sun, but if we look outward from the sun, everything around it would appear dark, because the sun cannot directly see its own light. We can understand the things around us, yet it is difficult to truly recognize our own inner nature. We can only gradually gain some understanding of ourselves through interactions with others. Just like a luminous object, it can only reveal its own light through reflection or complex refraction.
