Forty-four years ago, Goddard drafted a list of his life's grand ambitions. At the time, he was merely a wide-eyed child from a suburb in Los Angeles. He named this list "A Lifetime of Aspirations." It contained 127 numbered goals, including: exploring the Nile, Amazon, and Congo Rivers; climbing Mount Everest, Kilimanjaro, and Matterhorn; reading the works of Shakespeare, Plato, and Aristotle; composing music; writing a book; traveling to every country in the world; marrying and having children; visiting the moon, and more.
He explained, "I wrote that list because, at fifteen, I realized how limited my experiences were. Though I was immature, I knew I possessed the same potential as anyone else and had a strong desire to achieve something significant. I was interested in everything—travel, medicine, music, literature... I wanted to experience it all and inspire others. So, I drafted this grand blueprint. With goals in mind, I feel purpose in every moment. I noticed that many around me lived conventional lives, never taking risks or challenging themselves. I determined not to follow that path."
