Life is not tiring by nature, but rather due to the excessive burdens and hardships we carry. When the mind is not still, thoughts become chaotic; when thoughts are chaotic, the spirit is lost. Clear water is carefree because it follows its nature; falling leaves have no regrets because their hearts are empty. Let go of all obsessions, and you can enjoy the moonlight at night and the cool breeze in autumn.
Gold always shines, but not everything that shines is gold.
The eight sufferings of life: birth, aging, sickness, death, unfulfilled desires, separation from loved ones, meeting with those disliked, and attachment to the five aggregates.
Since things are this way, why not take them more lightly? Why hold onto excessive obsessions? Persisting in what should be persisted in is a form of gain; learning to let go of what should be let go is a form of enlightenment. One must know when to advance and when to retreat. Don't dwell on things you cannot understand, lest you harm your health; don't take things too seriously once you have understood them, lest you hurt your feelings.
