Niccolès Pauson was a renowned Italian painter. He had a longtime friend, a philosopher named Vignier de Marvelle. The two often spent time together, engaging in deep conversations and discussions.

In Niccolès' later years, Vignier once asked him, "Why do you enjoy such high prestige in the Italian art world?"

Niccolès replied, "I have a rule for my painting: to strive for the best and aim for perfection. I never dare to overlook or neglect any mundane, simple, or minor detail."

Vignier further inquired, "Then how exactly do you perceive and view these mundane, simple, and minor details?"

He responded, "In my view, greatness stems from the ordinary; accumulating the ordinary is how one accumulates excellence. Simplicity does not mean ease; mastering a simple move to its limit turns it into an extraordinary technique. Great things are achieved through details, as details determine success or failure; attention to detail is the foundation of creating masterpieces. Even difficult tasks start with the easy; many great endeavors and achievements are built through the continuous accumulation of seemingly insignificant small things."

Vignier then asked, "What do you consider to be the best way to achieve success?"

He answered, "The best way to succeed is to take everything you handle—every mundane, simple, and minor detail—and refine it to perfection, ensuring every task bears the label of 'excellence.' In other words, the best way to succeed is less about innate ability and more about relentless effort and dedication."
