Many things are abandoned midway not because the difficulty is too great, but because success feels too distant. To be precise, we do not give up because we fail; we fail because we give up.
At least once in a lifetime, one should forget oneself for another person, seeking no outcome, no companionship, no past possession, and not even their love. Only the wish to encounter them during the most beautiful years of one’s life.
Sometimes there is unexplained irritability, sometimes an unexplained silence, sometimes unexplained low mood, just wanting to be alone quietly, ignoring everyone and everything. Perhaps the world is too oppressive, or perhaps we are tainted with too much superficiality, and we can never face our current life easily. I just hope that when I am lost, someone can say to me, “Don’t be afraid, I am here.”
Do not mistake passion, wildness, and happiness in a relationship for love; at best, it is only the initial form of love. True love is staying together through blandness and repetition without leaving. The more passionate and clingy things are now does not indicate how much love will exist later; it only indicates how lonely both parties were before. Some forms of love manifest as persistence amidst daily necessities and tolerance amidst fierce arguments.
You thought you knew a person in one way, but after some time, you realized they were different. After accepting their true nature, you suddenly found that their nature had changed into yet another form completely unknown to you. In the end, you realize you don’t know their true form at all. In this materialistic era, people should not only reshape their appearance but also their inner selves.
No matter how much your boss or supervisor boasts or promises, keep a clear head and maintain self-respect. Do not place too much hope in others. Doing your own job well gives you hope, wins respect, and creates more room for development. As the saying goes, “When the melon is ripe, it falls; when water flows, it finds its channel.” Do not rely on someone to bring you utopia. As the *Internationale* sings, “There is no savior in this world; we must rely on ourselves.”
Learn to be a wise person. You were not born into a wealthy family, and without the fate of a prince or princess, do not imitate the illnesses only they can afford. They have time and money to gaze at the sky and fall into depression; you do not. You must struggle, bearing the weight of family and life. Do not waste time on complaints and grumbling. No one has wronged you. Do not compare yourself to the protagonists in melodramas who are naturally beautiful and exceptionally lucky. Only by having a strong, calm inner self can you truly grow.
