What exactly are you afraid of? If someone loves you, let them love you. If flowers are given to you, express your thanks. If invited to an event, consider the offer. In this world, kindness from others rarely harms you. It is often your own excessive kindness toward others that can backfire, causing you pain. Therefore, be bold in accepting love from others, but be cautious when giving your love. Loving someone, in a sense, is giving them the power to hurt you.
A disciple asked his master: "Master, how can I control my emotions and avoid getting angry when things go wrong?" The master replied: "If you deeply believe in cause and effect, you will not be confused. All grievances and kindnesses in this world are the result of karma. Without confusion, there is no anger. Getting angry is like drinking poison yourself while hoping others will suffer."
Acquiring wealth through hard work is one of the greatest pleasures in life.
Consider this: If a person lives in this world without anyone caring for them or being concerned about them, can their life truly be satisfying? However, your concern should be reserved for those who are truly sincere with you, those worthy of your care, and those who understand you.
Often, people start new jobs or learn new skills, only to give up in disappointment before any results appear. The most promising achievers are not necessarily the most talented, but those who are best at seizing every opportunity to explore and expand.
With a balanced mind, success and failure will not shake you; honor and disgrace will not startle you. You will see through the complexities of life and look past the illusions of fame and profit. You will face storms with a smile, resolve past grievances with benevolence, live a longer and healthier life, and ensure family harmony. In times of struggle, if someone casts a glance of understanding upon you, you will feel a warmth of life. Even if it is just for a fleeting moment, it can be incredibly inspiring. Therefore, we must learn to be grateful.
