Hatred is a double-edged sword; while retaliating against others, one inevitably harms oneself. The result of mutual retribution is often mutual destruction. A life filled with hatred is painful and unfortunate. Only by letting go of hatred and choosing tolerance can the knots in our hearts be untangled, restoring peace and purity within.
In reality, life works like this: things that seem incredibly important at the time, such as breakups or divorces, often fade into insignificance once they pass. On the other hand, things we take for granted, like youth and loved ones, are actually the most precious aspects of life. Therefore, the more painful things tend to be forgotten more easily, while the most ordinary things are the ones we cannot afford to lose.
What is a young heart? It is not about refusing to age at a specific age, but rather possessing freshness and enthusiasm in youth, and being able to accept wrinkles and loosening skin with grace in old age, accompanied by a demeanor and richness of spirit that match one's age. This is what it means to "age gracefully."
Right understanding and right view in life refer to the wisdom that helps us cut through suffering and烦恼 (distress). Based on this insight, we adjust our attitude toward the world and our way of living: from narrowness, rigidity, and conflict to breadth, gentleness, and harmony; from harming ourselves, others, and all sentient beings to helping and benefiting all sentient beings; from suffering to bliss, and from the cycle of reincarnation to liberation.
Coincidences often turn into habits, habits give rise to expectations, and expectations can lead to disappointment. Disappointment, in turn, breeds new expectations, prompting us to break bad habits and allow them to return to being mere coincidences. Some things are merely coincidences, expectations, and habits that eventually become disappointments. By understanding these coincidences and changing these habits, we free ourselves from disappointment, aspiring to be a liberated and untroubled self.
