Fortune and misfortune are not merely matters of luck. Ancient sages long understood the truth that "one who follows the Way gains many allies, while one who loses the Way finds few." Those who do good cultivate fragrant fruits that spread far and wide, inspiring admiration. Conversely, those who do evil inevitably harvest bitter results and become despised by others.
Some mistakes, once made, can never be corrected. Like a car speeding downhill, it becomes impossible to stop its course toward ruin unless controlled beforehand. Similarly, if one causes irreversible harm to others, it can never be fixed unless one has restrained themselves prior to the act.
There is always someone who makes us want to use all our courage and emotion to see through love and time. If one day I become arrogant and dismissive of others, please remember that no one ever truly valued me before. Scarcer than time is the desire and willingness to truly understand another person. Why are we still afraid? We fear walking across mountains and seas, only to find that the heart opposite us, though seemingly shining with gold, is actually a barren wilderness.
It is often said: "No one is as happy as you imagine, and successful people have endured sufferings you cannot imagine." "Without storms, how can one see the rainbow? No one succeeds easily." In truth, this applies to everything in the world. If you want to succeed, you must endure more hardship and exert more effort than others. "One part of effort may yield one part of reward; nine parts of effort definitely yield one part of reward!" For the goals in your heart, you must double your efforts.
