Abandonment does not require courage; in fact, most people do it—abandoning their dreams and their true selves. Today marks a new beginning. We must move forward, for there are many landscapes left to view and many fruits left to taste. Seize your time and advance until the flame of life gradually dims. At that moment, when you look back on your life, you may depart with a smile. Loneliness is often silent; one may come to rely on the smile of the dark night, listening to the confessions of solitude.
People should be persistent, but never fanatical. Many things in the world cannot be changed. We must learn to change what can be changed and accept what cannot. Changing the world is difficult; changing oneself is easier. Things that do not belong to you are of no use, no matter how much you like them. Do not obsess over certain people or events. Let things take their natural course and face them with the best possible mindset.
In the vast sea of people, everyone is learning to reflect on life. Reflection brings clarity. Many principles seem small but are essential truths for living. Stubbornness can turn a life into a pathological state. It is hard to determine exactly how much talent or wealth is needed to feel content. Recognizing life clearly is crucial; after all, we are all passersby. Life requires more candor and responsibility.
Maturity is a painful concept. It may not bring you everything, but it will certainly cost you something. The world is like a book; those who do not travel have only read one page. I know someone in this world is waiting for me, even if I do not know who they are. Yet this knowledge brings daily joy.
Life is not a monolith. If you realize you have made a mistake, start over. If others cannot forgive you, forgive yourself. Never use one mistake to justify another. Of all the easy things in the world, procrastination is the least effortful.
Life will not be smooth sailing. There are successes and failures, joys and losses. If we take these ups and downs too seriously, life will never be peaceful or joyful. Life should have pursuit, but temporary unattainability should not hinder daily happiness. Therefore, possessing an even temperament is an essential lubricant for a balanced life.
