One morning, while I was brushing my teeth, a small cockroach suddenly appeared from nowhere and landed on my hand. In my panic, I flushed it into the drain of the sink. The little cockroach struggled in the pipe, frantically trying to climb up the smooth walls to escape this 'crisis.' It clearly understood that if it fell down, death awaited it. It climbed with all its might, but the walls were too slippery. Just as it was about to succeed, it slipped again due to exhaustion. However, its instinct for survival drove it not to give up; it continued to struggle upwards with great difficulty.
Out of fear and disgust, just as the cockroach was about to climb out, I flushed it down again with water, leaving it on its back, thrashing around helplessly. I noticed that it seemed injured as it slid down, its legs spasmatically twitching. For some reason, my heart was moved by this tiny life, touched by its strength and desire to survive in the face of death. I truly could not bear to kill it, so I decided to help.
But I was afraid to touch it with my hands. How could I help? After much thought, I finally came up with an idea: use a toothpick to 'pull' it out. At that moment, the cockroach had stopped moving. I picked up a toothpick and gently prodded it. The cockroach suddenly wriggled violently, startling me so much that I dropped the toothpick. This was no way to go about it, I thought. So I sprayed some water on it. It seemed to have regained its breath—the cockroach flipped over and crawled away quickly, moving further and further until it successfully escaped this 'life crisis'!
I was stunned. The little cockroach had climbed out with such tenacious perseverance! It had escaped right under the nose of this 'giant' that is me. Despite facing death, it still managed to create a miracle through its efforts!
Through this little cockroach, I understood a profound life philosophy: No matter how harsh the environment may be, one should never give up trying. No matter what life-threatening challenges one faces, never abandon the belief that I must live on!
