Buddha is not an idol, but the fruit of spiritual cultivation. One does not necessarily need to burn incense and kneel in worship; Buddha resides in the heart, not outside the body. Buddha was once a human, and humans are future Buddhas. Buddha became Buddha by seeing through situations that ordinary people cannot and accomplishing what they cannot. Humans remain human because they are entangled by the seven emotions and six desires, unable to see through or escape them. If the heart can have a sudden enlightenment and learn to be content, we can all become Buddhas.
