When you clutch onto something tightly, you possess only that thing; but if you are willing to let go, you open up the opportunity to choose something else.
In times of difficulty, it is best to persist on your own without the need to complain to others. In most cases, pouring out your heart does not solve any problems and may instead become material for others' casual chatter. Instead of wasting time on incessant complaints, it is wiser to calm your mind, reflect on what you can do, actively seek solutions, and take initiative to escape the predicament.
Most of the time, it is life that chooses you, not you that chooses life. Although one may be unwilling, one must face it; this is the reality of life. We stand in place, quietly enduring, learning to suppress sorrow and practice forbearance. We strive to return to our initial detachment, bidding farewell to our self-important youth and imagined beauty. When reality forces you to face things as they are, smiling is the only response we have.
I have also experienced bitterness and suffering, but I choose not to speak of it. I have also held onto obsessions, but I remain silent. I have also experienced internal turmoil, but I keep quiet. I am not pretending to be foolish, nor have I failed to see, think, or understand; I simply choose not to say it.
Although life lasts only a few decades, it is not an illusion that fades away. As long as one pursues truth, one attains a form of eternal life. Life is not a candle that burns out, but a torch held high. We must let it burn brightly and intensely, passing it on to the next generation.
