Health is the perfection of the physical body, but this does not guarantee that the mind is equally fulfilled. If one's heart is filled with injustice and resentment, it becomes difficult to maintain physical well-being. Therefore, as Whitehead suggested, one should strive for "good health and a bad memory"—focusing on physical wellness while practicing letting go of unhelpful negative emotions, remembering only the beautiful things. In doing so, happiness will naturally follow.
To succeed, you need friends; to achieve great success, you need enemies. Competition creates rivals, and rivals foster the determination to never give up. This is a debt of the soul that I must repay soon. It lashes my heart like a whip, as if I am reliving events from fifty years ago. "Write, write," a voice seems to constantly whisper in my ear. As I approach the end of my life, I refuse to leave this world empty-handed. I will write, and I will never stop my pen; I will let it ignite a fire to consume me. Even when I am reduced to ashes, my love and my hatred will never vanish from this world.
