Those who fear losing something often lose it the most. The more you crave possession, the more you need to learn to let go. Letting go is difficult, yet it is often the only option. While some things in this world can be recovered, far more are beyond retrieval, such as old dreams, the passage of time, and the unique feelings one has for a specific person.
Is love a form of consumption or release? Sometimes, I wish to hold you close so we never part; other times, I wish to release you, granting you freedom and reclaiming my own. It turns out that a human heart can actually hold two loves, two longings, and two intertwined burdens of pain and joy.
The weakest point of human nature is often attachment. We cannot bear to let go of a relationship that has lost its luster, nor can we part with vanity or applause. We always assume that the best days will last forever and need not end so soon. Yet, in that very moment when we hesitate for lack of courage, the best days slip away without mercy.
