Life is exhausting, which is perhaps why we are called human beings. The wise often choose to let go of the need to explain. In the eyes of many, explanations are merely cover-ups. In fact, explaining is often unnecessary: enemies won't believe your explanation, and friends don't need one. Many things simply do not require explanation. Just as the sky may remain gray because the rain hasn't fallen through, once it does, the sun will naturally shine.
The sea accepts a hundred rivers, blending them together. No matter how turbulent the rivers were on land, the sea welcomes them with an embracing heart, accepting the power of their passion to rise in waves. Yet, the sea does not allow a hint of restlessness or wildness. This is the nature of the sea—it does not accept everything given to it; it retains what is essential, achieving a grand solitude.
If you cannot endure suffering, you will never see happiness. Pursuit is a goal, an ideal, and perhaps a fantasy that may never be realized, but the act of pursuing is above all status or class. Has life ever lacked ideals or fantasies? Whether or not these ideals and fantasies come true, life cannot exist without goals, and without pursuit.
There is nothing in the world until the foolish disturb themselves. In life, there are always past events like empty castles, with years still ahead; there are always seasons where flowers cool and sorrow covers the ground. Many situations, once viewed with clarity, will turn into a new path; many dreams, once viewed with detachment, will see the sun break through the clouds. Learn to think, learn to cherish, understand through a smile, and remain strong in silence.
We must learn to manage our own lives. It is not about dragging out the days or merely surviving them, but about enjoying them. When the mind becomes simple, we have the mind to cultivate our lives; when life becomes simple, we have the time to enjoy existence. Living simply is not hard; it only requires understanding that we live for ourselves, born for beauty, and act for happiness.
