What is life? Why do we live? What is the meaning of our existence? Life is like fireworks in the night sky—beautiful yet fleeting. We live to face setbacks, to experience fleeting yet eternal joy, and to derive wisdom from the bitterest or sweetest moments of our lives.
Courage, hope, and love are the sunlight of life. When facing adversity and suffering, people often long for a miracle. But what do we do when miracles no longer appear? Some flee because they refuse to face reality; others retreat because they fear the disdain of others; some avoid because they cannot bear the ridicule. However, some view these challenges as trials from the heavens and face them with bravery; others trust in their own courage and ultimately achieve success.
Nick Vujicic has suffered from a rare disease since birth, born without arms or legs, possessing only a small 'chicken foot' to assist with daily activities. His congenital disability once led him to consider suicide at the age of eight. Later, he used that 'chicken foot' to accomplish what many deemed impossible: he learned to write, type on a computer, answer the phone, throw a ball, and even swim. At the age of twenty-one, he obtained a university degree and traveled around the world to speak, spreading the message of life's resilience.
Pain and setbacks are tests bestowed upon us by the heavens. Do not give in to despair or flee from difficulties when faced with adversity. 'Instead of cursing the darkness, light a candle.' If miracles vanish, use your courage, dreams, and hope to light another candle. Open another window for yourself, and seek another path.
