If you ask us what we possess, we would proudly tell you— we possess youth! However, merely having youth is far from enough; we must also cherish it, grasp it, and let it shine with brilliance.
Many people believe that youth simply means having a beautiful face and a strong body. In fact, beyond these, youth should also include an open mind and active thoughts. As the saying goes, "Possessing youth is equivalent to possessing a vast wealth." But you must know that the wealth of youth is limited. If we do not know how to cherish and grasp it, it will vanish completely. Guo Moruo once said, "In the human world, there is nothing more precious than youth, yet youth is also the easiest thing to lose." It is evident how valuable youth is. If we want to hold onto youth and feel no regrets about it, we must seize the present moment.
As for how to grasp the present, for us who are in the stage of acquiring knowledge, it means continuously absorbing scientific and cultural knowledge to enrich ourselves. Instead of being like certain classmates who are interested in nothing other than surfing the internet or romantic relationships, which is a waste of youth. Moreover, romantic relationships are not what we should be focusing on at our age. Why should we waste our precious youth on such things? I recall a famous quote, though I am not sure who said it, which roughly means, "Youth is limited, while wisdom is infinite; use the briefness of youth to learn infinite wisdom." Yes, let us cherish youth, grasp it, make it substantial through learning, and perfect it through trials.
Youth bestows upon us a mission: continuous learning. Studying has always been arduous from ancient times to the present. As the ancients said, "Ten years of hard study in the cold window." Only by not fearing hardship and enduring loneliness can one achieve success in studies. However, some middle school students are unwilling to endure this hardship and instead indulge in pleasure. They gather friends, eat, drink, play, and spend time under the flowers and moon, engaging in romantic pursuits. Perhaps they think this life is very happy, chic, and romantic. But this is merely transient; if they continue this way, all that will remain are regrets and remorse. I believe the greatest tragedy in life is to squander youth. We must take advantage of our youth to study cultural knowledge diligently. Only then will we have no regrets about our youth and feel worthy of our times.
Youth is a flowing brook, skipping and leaping towards the future; youth is a blooming flower, emitting a captivating fragrance. Youth is wonderfully infinite; let us cherish it!
