Having gone through the vicissitudes of time, we no longer harbor much naivety, excitement, agitation, or youthful recklessness. Passion and irritability have gradually faded away, replaced by a sense of grace and tranquility. Our mindset has become more tolerant, magnanimous, and steady.
One only comes to this world once. Whether bitter or sweet, happy or sad, none of these emotions can be shed. If one does not find ways to energize the spirit or console oneself, is life not too exhausting? "Those who are carefree live to a hundred; those who are free of guilt live without burden." Yesterday is gone, and no matter how much one regrets it, it has already become history. The pursuit in science is truth, in morality is goodness, and in art is beauty.
Some say that if you truly want something, let it go. If it comes back to you, then it is forever yours. If it does not return, there is no need to wait, for it was never yours to begin with. Unexpected warmth, touching moments, understanding, appreciation, cherishment, and beauty often bring surprises. However, the unexpected can last for a moment, but not for a lifetime.
The twists and hardships, as well as the smoothness and joy on life's journey, constitute fate. Do not fear its unpredictability, even though it sometimes appears and disappears without a trace. Nor should you bow down to its strangeness and submit to its whims. Half of fate is in our hands, while the other half is in heaven's hands. The harder we work, the stronger the half in our hands becomes, and the more abundant our gains will be. In moments of despair, remember that you hold half of your destiny; in moments of arrogance, remember that heaven holds the other half.
When life demands that you be watertight, it is important to understand the difference between positive and negative watertightness. Negative watertightness is a foolish approach, employing tactics such as silence, denial, stern expressions, and shutting out guests; this is genuine incompetence. Positive watertightness, on the other hand, is achieved through affirmation.
