A person with true learning is often humble and does not teach everyone they meet; a person with true wealth is often low-key and does not flaunt it before everyone; a person with true virtue is often wise and does not display it to everyone; a person with true wisdom is often composed and does not show off their talents; a person with true taste is often natural and does not affect mannerisms; a person with true cultivation is often quiet and does not rush to be first.
I aspire to a plain and simple emotion, not deeply engraved or passionate. I hope to possess an ordinary life, a tranquil living. As long as we quietly rely on each other, there is infinite tenderness entangled in our smiling gazes. It is like drinking a cup of plain water with no taste, yet it satisfies the human need for moisture.
Often, we unconsciously choose those we should not love, marriages we should not enter, positions we cannot handle, and dreams we cannot achieve, thereby selecting various predicaments in life. Mysteriously, life's predicaments are like the sun rising in the east and setting in the west; they do not change based on the choices we make. Different choices only bring different degrees of difficulty. All we can do is accept the facts.
How much cultivation we give to life, life rewards us with fruit. How much laziness we give to life, life returns to us bitterness.
The truly wise are happy; those who think they are wise are troubled. Helping others reduce their worries by three parts brings you seven parts of happiness.
Courtesy is like an air cushion; it may contain nothing inside, but it reduces the bumps.
A friend asked me, "What is life?" I replied, "Life is cultivation." He asked again, "How do we cultivate?" I answered, "Walk and cultivate, cultivate and walk."
