It is precisely because of the dark night sky that we can see the twinkling stars; the value of darkness lies in highlighting the brilliance of the stars. Perhaps we are the darkness that exists to witness the shining of the stars.
By possessing honesty, we discard deceit; by possessing honesty, we bid farewell to boredom; by possessing steadiness, we stay away from restlessness. Whether it is a deliberate discard or an accidental loss, as long as we have truly possessed it at some point, magnanimous letting go is itself a state of mind in certain moments.
