Human effort can establish a harmonious marriage, but true happiness in love often depends on fate.
People generally experience loneliness in three ways. First, there is a state of anxiety and confusion, where one feels disconnected from everything and desperately wants to escape the solitude. Second, one gradually becomes accustomed to loneliness, finds peace, establishes order in life, and dispels the feeling through reading, writing, or other pursuits. Third, loneliness itself becomes a fertile ground for poetry and a catalyst for creation, inspiring deep thoughts and experiences about existence, life, and the self.
Life is purely accidental, so every life needs to cling to another, relying on each other and walking together.
Superior talent often leads to an early end, while mediocrity allows for a longer life. Is love not the same?
By nature, I am not well-suited for socializing. In most situations, I either find the other person boring or fear that they find me boring. However, I am unwilling to endure the other's boredom, nor am I willing to exhaust myself trying to appear interesting; both are too tiring. I am most at ease when I am alone, because I do not find myself boring. Even if I am, I bear it alone, without imposing on others, and thus feel no anxiety.
As long as a person knows exactly what they truly want and finds the lifestyle that suits them best, all external temptations and hustle-and-bustle indeed become irrelevant. Your body may race around the world as much as it likes, and your emotions may rise and fall amidst the dust of the world, but the key is that your spirit must have a serene core. With this core, you can become the master of your racing body and fluctuating emotions.
We walk side by side in the darkness, on our respective pilgrimages, unable to know for certain if we are heading toward the same sanctuary, for we cannot clearly articulate to others or even to ourselves what that sanctuary truly looks like. Nevertheless, the same passionate drive for pilgrimage makes us believe that perhaps a single sanctuary does exist. As beings with souls, the greatness and sublimity of humanity lie precisely in this.
