Knowledge concerns matters within human limitations, while wisdom concerns matters beyond them.
In this bustling world, I often ask myself: Where exactly is my place? I do not belong to any mainstream, non-mainstream, or anti-mainstream circles. Does this mean I don't belong to this lively world at all? Yet, I am certainly not a hermit who has withdrawn from society. My only explanation is this: no matter how lively the world may be, the hustle and bustle occupy only a small part of it. The world beyond the noise is boundless, and there lies my place—a quiet corner.
The soul is nothing but a matured childlike heart; because it is mature, it will not be lost.
I admit that knowing oneself may be a futile endeavor. However, I also believe that if a person never tries to know himself and is unwilling to engage in any seemingly hopeless spiritual pursuit, work will never make him a complete person; it will only turn him into a mediocre one.
Love is beautiful whether it is brief or lasting. Even the fruitless affection between strangers, a fleeting glance, a vague excitement, or an inexplicable melancholy is beautiful. This is because the heart capable of feeling all this is still young. Life would be too boring without encounters and the anticipation of them. A prerequisite for the charm of life is that the possibility of new love remains open to you, even if you never act on it.
I do not believe that a person can only love once in a lifetime, nor do I believe that one must love many times. The number of times says nothing. The capacity of love is the capacity of the soul. If you are a deep valley, one love is like a river, and many loves are like many waves. If you are a shallow beach, one love is just a trickle, and many loves are just bubbles.
