Created by the Finnish band Dreamtale, the original meaning of “The Dawn” is “dawn,” “daybreak,” or “sunrise.” However, in Chinese internet culture, this piece has been widely and incorrectly referred to as the “Undead Overture.” The origin of this misnomer dates back to 2005, when a player of the Undead faction in *Warcraft III* on a domestic e-sports website recommended the song as the anthem for the Undead forum section. Subsequently, another user edited a music video using “The Dawn” as the background score, incorporating cutscenes of the Undead faction from *Warcraft III*, and titled it “Undead Overture.” Since then, this incorrect Chinese name has spread widely with the popularity of the video, while the song’s true name remains largely unknown.
