We often find ourselves standing at crossroads in life, facing various difficult choices. The eternal signposts guiding us are persistence, courage, and wisdom. Only by possessing these three qualities can we make the right choices and walk the right path in life.
After reading "80 Inspirational Stories of Youth," my heart was gently stirred and continued to tremble. Each short story in the book left a deep impression on me. College student Zhao Bo used his wisdom to continuously "upgrade" his vegetable shop, eventually becoming a "star seller" who helped his neighbors become wealthy. A job-seeker with an unattractive appearance failed repeatedly, but was enlightened by a manager who had previously rejected her during her time as a beggar. She reignited her determination and cleverly utilized the very face that had once led to her failures, ultimately achieving success. They faced difficulties head-on, using their resilience as a blade to crush the obstacles in their way and ultimately attain victory. These stories provoked deep reflection in me.
Reflecting on my experience practicing long-distance running in the residential area, I originally believed that "persistence leads to victory." However, after running more than half the distance, I was breathless. If there had been a bed nearby, I would have fallen onto it without hesitation. Panting heavily, I struggled with the thought: should I rest for a moment? No, such meaningless practice serves no purpose! I gritted my teeth and forced myself to hold on for a while longer. But the fatigue was truly unbearable! Two little figures seemed to be fighting in my head. Initially, I tried to convince myself to persist a little longer, but as time ticked by, listening to my gasping breath and rapid heartbeat, I finally gave in. I made up all sorts of excuses and rested on the side of the road for a long time. Eventually, unwilling to endure such torment any longer, I chose to stop. From then on, I abandoned the practice and failed to achieve my original goal. My father once mocked me for this, but it was only after reading this book that I realized: if I had just persisted for a few more moments at that time, success might not have been so far away.
The ultimate glorious blooming of life comes from the hardships and storms on the path of growth. Just like a rainbow, it is a beautiful scene that appears only after the wind and rain. Only by going through the baptism of storms can it be revealed. Only by persisting and working hard when facing setbacks can our lives avoid being in vain, allowing us to bloom the most brilliant flowers.
When that moment of glory arrives, I believe you will surely thank the stubborn and resilient version of yourself from the past.
