Life is experienced through mood; living is defined by attitude. Life follows its course; life can be weary. When tired, sleep; when awake, smile. Walking certain paths teaches us hardship; climbing mountains teaches us difficulty; crossing rivers teaches us about trekking; overcoming obstacles teaches us about transcendence; experiencing things teaches us experience; meeting people teaches us cultivation; reading books teaches us wealth; and after a lifetime, we understand happiness. Have more joy and less trouble. When tired, sleep; when awake, smile. Let yourself season your own life; find your own happiness.
Fate, coming and going throughout history, is recited in poems with indifference. Meeting is fate and also part of destiny; fate determined in three lifetimes belongs to destiny. How vast is the distance to the end of the world; the Milky Way cannot block two souls. First, seeking the far and abandoning the near, traveling thousands of miles to reach one another; Second, regarding wealth as dust, with a steadfast affection comparable to gold; Third, bravely disregarding one's life, a timeless epic that shakes heaven and earth; Fourth, hearts joined like twin lotuses, staying together in love like youth. If it is not the clouds of Mount Wu, it is nothing; fate comes and goes, all following you.
Simplicity is the ultimate state of life. Childhood joy comes from innocence, while adult pain stems from complexity. The older we get, the lonelier we often feel. In childhood, we could find joy even in solitude among flowers and grass; in adulthood, even amidst crowds, we often feel lonely because human hearts are unpredictable. Simplicity is the ultimate realization: to be free of excessive desire and disappointment, to follow fate, and to avoid futile efforts. Simplicity is the greatest joy.
Without appreciation, one will not be happy even with a mountain of gold; without tolerance, even many friends will eventually depart; without choice, no amount of effort will lead to success; without action, even the smartest will fail to realize their dreams; without cooperation, no amount of struggle will lead to greatness; without accumulation, no amount of earning will lead to wealth; without contentment, no amount of riches will lead to happiness; without health preservation, no amount of treatment will lead to longevity. Those who understand love know how to cherish; those who understand the heart know how precious it is.
Those who understand appreciation can attain; those who understand care can find happiness; those who understand compassion have a loving heart; those who understand gratitude possess kindness; those who understand giving receive rewards; those who understand choice can achieve great things; those who understand strength can withstand blows; those who understand emotion can find true love; those who understand human touch can earn respect.
The smarter one is, the more tired they often become. Caring too much makes it hard to let go, often leading to greater loss; pursuing too bitterly makes the mind heavy, often leaving less beauty. In life, some things are just numbers, so do not be too obsessive; some people are just passersby, so do not linger too much; some matters are just matters, so do not expect too much. Having a beautiful mood, a simple state of mind, and a sense of happiness—even if imperfect—is the most beautiful thing.
In life, meeting some people is a blessing, while meeting others is a disaster. No one is perfect, but one should strive to be sincere and authentic; no matter how small the detail, one should strive to be diligent and devoted; no matter how imperfect the emotion, one should strive to be without regret. The world was originally clean and beautiful; humanity was originally kind and simple; encounters were originally clear and simple. Return to nature, return to yourself, and return to a quiet, dustless heart.
Everyone has a temper, but learn to restrain it; observe in silence and think in calmness, lest the demon of impulse creates irreparable mistakes. Everyone has dreams, but stand on reality; approach them through struggle and persist through patience, lest your ambitions only exist on your lips. Everyone has a bottom line, but learn to balance it; prioritize principles in big matters and maintain boundaries in small ones; being too uncompromising makes it hard to gain support, while being too hypocritical drives people away.
The road of life must be walked by oneself. No matter the choice, as long as it is your own, there is no right or wrong, and no need for regret. Whether good or bad, nothing is eternal. When you are failing and in pain, tell yourself: this too shall pass; when you are successful and elated, also know: this too shall pass.
Look past the vicissitudes of the world and keep your heart at peace. Ultimately, life is about mood. We feel weary because too many things control our mood: changes in weather, the warmth or coldness of human relationships, and shifting scenery—all of which are beyond our control. When you see through it, weather is just sunny or cloudy, people are just gatherings or partings, and the earth is just high or low. Though the seas change and mountains shift, my heart remains unshaken and stable; following fate with ease, without excessive joy or sorrow, is a sunny day.
When in a bad mood, tell yourself: no matter how bitter or tiring, as long as you keep moving forward, the scenery that belongs to you will eventually appear; as long as it is your choice, there will be no regrets, for youth, once gone, can never be redeemed; the past is for remembering, do not drown in its shadows, or you will lose sight of the road ahead; do not expect everyone to understand you, nor do you need to understand everyone; partings and reunions are the laws of life; do not dwell on them, for what is there to grieve?
On the road of reincarnation, there are always unexpected encounters and missed connections. Fate has its partings; having someone walk with you is a warmth; the human heart has its coldness; having someone who understands is a happiness. Hold tight to true feelings and connect heart to heart; offer sincerity to exchange for affection; to know through truth is to understand the heart; to exist in purity is to see through transparency; to stay through appreciation is to accompany for a lifetime.
Many of life's troubles actually stem from within. The swaying of the wind is a natural scene, requiring no forced meaning; the dancing of snow is a natural poem, requiring no excessive longing; the throbbing of the heart is a natural emotion, requiring no excessive concern. Every day is an end and also a beginning. No matter how beautiful the past was, it has become the past; no matter how difficult the present is, everyone is experiencing it. Give yourself a smile; in life, there is sunshine everywhere.
