14. Life is sometimes like a maze; whether there is a path or not, one must move forward. Use life's eyes to remain non-judgmental and non-attached, giving the heart courage. Do not nitpick at life's satisfactions or regrets; everything should be moderate, as excess harms the body. One must discover their character's blind spots, stay within the bounds of conscience, accept their imperfections, and not magnify the mistakes and flaws of others.
15. Every wealthy person is created this way: when others do not understand what they are doing, they understand it themselves; when others do not comprehend their actions, they understand their purpose; when others finally understand, they have become wealthy; when others finally comprehend, they have achieved success.
16. Eyes that have shed tears of regret are often more sincere than faces that smile at everything.
17. A heart should be fair, and a temper should be calm.
18. Life is a journey of cultivation, and cultivation is the refinement of the mind. Suffering arises from pursuing the wrong things, which is essentially an error in thought. As mortal beings, who can be without error? The cultivation of life is to constantly discover and correct our mistakes. Only when we walk the right path can we gradually escape suffering. One cannot achieve enlightenment through smooth sailing alone; true liberation from pain lies in transcendence.
19. Regarding thought: We both sleep upon our possessions—you sleep upon your gold, while I sleep upon my tools of livelihood!
20. It is not that I strive for extreme effort, but rather that I do not want my future self to look down on my present self.
21. Life requires precipitation and reflection to become more perfect; it requires accumulation and looking back to sublimate through the tasting of gains, losses, sweetness, and bitterness. Looking forward is about dreams and goals; looking back is about results and corrections. Many things could have been done better if we had looked back; many people could have achieved what they wanted if they had reflected. The path ahead is often written behind us.
22. Seeking ill-gotten wealth is shameful. Truly wealthy people do not use such disgraceful means to acquire wealth, for they would suffer the punishment of conscience and feel their hearts racing in guilt.
23. Philosophical truth: To know others is wisdom; to know oneself is enlightenment.
24. When poor, do not be petty—this is called having an unyielding spirit. When wealthy, learn to be kind to others and allow others to be kind to you. Learn the art of giving and receiving. Few understand these wonderful ways of living.
25. In everything, there is one principle: endure to stand out, or fail to endure and be eliminated—that is life.
26. The more you resist someone, the more you become like them.
