1. A wise person views issues from more perspectives than an ordinary person.
2. When you have grain, consider the hardship of having none; do not wait until you are empty to long for it.
3. Life's journey is not always smooth; adversity and disappointment often accompany us. However, the brilliance of humanity often shines in times of hardship, serving as a powerful invisible force to drive us forward.
4. No matter how good or bad the past was, it has passed. The past should not interfere much with present life; dwelling on the past means losing hope for the future. The future, too, is unpredictable—it may bring hardship or beautiful circumstances. One must face the present, whether good or bad: cherish joy, solve difficulties with heart, and seize opportunities.
5. Friendship has a unique power: sharing joy with a friend doubles it; sharing sorrow with a friend halves it. Much like alchemy's "philosopher's stone," friendship can multiply gold and turn iron into gold.
6. Wisdom is a skill, while insight is a state of being. Wisdom builds and takes; insight deconstructs and lets go. Wisdom knows how to advance; insight knows how to retreat. Only those who can retreat can truly advance; those who can be humble can rise; those who can bend can stretch; those who can be soft can be strong. A wise person can hold on through skill, while an insightful person can let go through their state of being. A life with both brings true freedom.
7. We should not be intimidated by "expert opinions." When facing familiar realms—such as our own bodies, families, or homes—listen to the experts, but make your own decisions. Our conclusions may be just as valid, or even superior.
8. To meet the one you are meant to meet among millions, in the vast wilderness of millennia—not a step too early, nor a step too late, just happening to arrive—there is nothing left to say but to whisper, "Oh, you are here too?"
9. Life is full of choices, and attitude is everything. Unfurrow your brow; do not let life's setbacks lead to depression. Ask yourself, "What truly matters?" You may find that some choices conflict with your goals, allowing you to remove them from your life's agenda.
10. When you feel sad, crouch down and hug yourself! Forgive yourself and let yourself go. There is no need to suffer while trying to forget someone; time will do it naturally. If time cannot make us forget those we shouldn't remember, what purpose do our lost years serve?
11. Humans are like tea leaves: dry and lifeless when first dropped, slowly rising when water is poured, then slowly settling over time, leaving only a silent green and a heavy heart.
12. The most luxurious people are those willing to spend time with you. Everyone's time is valuable; sharing it means sharing their world. In this vast world, having someone willing to stay is a great blessing. People add many meanings to "love," but its simplest explanation is: there is someone who stays until the very end.
13. Do you have four versions of yourself? The mad one before friends, the perfect one before lovers, the fragile one when alone, and the quiet one in a crowd of strangers.
14. 若教眼底无离恨,不信人间有白头。
15. All of this is a gift of life; whether you like it or not, accept it and understand its meaning. Life is a heavy run through time, and time will only leave those who truly belong. Yes, time will leave the right people for you.
16. Life is like a train with various passengers passing through. You may meet many people you think are destined to be in your life, but trains must stop, and people must get on and off. When you step off and wave goodbye, the only thing you remember is the road home.
17. Your thoughts determine your choices, and your choices determine your life. Though we may not be descendants of nobility, through effort, we can become the ancestors of nobility. All wins and losses are the accidents and necessities of life. As long as you bravely choose the distance, you are destined to accept both victory and failure. The key is: as long as you act, both winning and losing are magnificent. Effort brings beauty, and struggle creates the future.
18. Conscience is a mirror that reflects both our inner selves and our perceptions of the outside world. If the mirror is clear, the heart is bright. Unfortunately, some mirrors are covered in dust, making everything blurry or even filthy; some are broken, showing only fragmented images; and some have been discarded entirely, leaving no distinction between right and wrong, or profit and fame.
