Lu Yu, a famous scholar of the Tang Dynasty, lost his parents at a young age and was raised by Master Zhiji. Although he lived in a temple, Lu Yu was not interested in chanting scriptures or worshipping Buddha all day. Instead, he loved reading poetry and studying literature.
Later, Lu Yu insisted on leaving the temple to pursue his studies, but the master opposed his decision. To challenge and educate him, the master asked Lu Yu to learn the art of making tea.
During his study of tea culture, Lu Yu met a kind old woman. With her guidance, he not only mastered the complex techniques of tea preparation but also learned many valuable lessons about studying and life.
Eventually, when Lu Yu respectfully served a steaming cup of bitter tea to the master, the master was moved by his determination and personal growth, and finally agreed to let him leave the temple to continue his education.
In later years, Lu Yu devoted himself to the study of tea culture and wrote The Classic of Tea, a work that greatly promoted and preserved Chinese tea culture for future generations.
