How far your heart goes determines how far you can travel. Be a warm person, smile gently, and love lightly. As we mature, we see through the vanities of this world—seeing the truth behind disguises and the falsehood behind concealment. Many things we once believed may no longer hold sway. Yet, we must still choose to believe: believe in beauty, believe in goodness, and believe that the purest essence of youth remains in our hands.
Life can be difficult, but one must keep their head held high. Avoiding challenges doesn't mean they won't find you, and facing them isn't always the hardest path; loneliness isn't necessarily devoid of joy, and what is gained isn't always permanent; what is lost may one day be found again. You may feel sorrow for a reason, but you can also find a reason to be happy. As one ascends in life, the heart should become more grounded; only with a steady heart can the path ahead be walked securely.
Plainness is the main thread of life, while brilliance is merely an embellishment. We cannot avoid the ordinariness of reality, nor should we indulge in fantasies of the future. Never attempt to cover one mistake with another; staying immersed in the pool of past mistakes only weakens the soul. Only by forgiving your past self can you enjoy the happiness of today. If others refuse to forgive you, you can choose to forgive yourself.
Where the wind passes, pure white petals fall like snow, swirling in a cold indifference. The mist is cool, the lotus sleeps, and the light is dim and rippleless. Shadows stretch far away, distant mountains rise and fall like shifting thoughts, and trees are lush but fruitless. Suddenly, a butterfly flutters by, its colorful wings mottled with time. As the temple bells ring, in the reflections of this shore yet uncrossed, beside my faded countenance, I see once more the obsessions I have yet to let go.
Emotions are a form of energy; they come and they go. Adults should not interfere excessively but rather help children learn to process their own emotions. Our role is to provide boundless love and support. If we teach children to avoid negative emotions through diversion, they may grow up using substitutes like addiction or workaholism to escape, which is frightening; conversely, suppressing their emotions is equally detrimental.
The most important people in our lives might offer only a faint warmth while they are beside us, no more striking than a cup of hot tea. But when they are gone, the whole world suddenly turns desolate. We constantly strive to conquer space, yet find ourselves powerless against time.
