A philosopher had long been contemplating the relationship between people and the world. One day, while preparing for a keynote speech, he felt stuck and confused, while his son kept disturbing him nearby.
He casually tore a map from the back cover of a magazine into pieces and told his son, “If you can put it back together, I will reward you.” He expected this would keep the child busy for a while.
Unexpectedly, in less than half an hour, the child completed the puzzle. The philosopher was astonished and asked for the reason. The child smiled and said, “I didn’t look at the map. I first reconstructed the portrait of the person on the back. If the person is correct, then the map will naturally be correct.”
The philosopher suddenly understood and immediately found the theme for his speech: if a person is right, then the world they perceive will also be right.
This story reminds us that with thoughtful reflection and insight, inspiration and help are often right around us.
