Imagine looking back before you depart, only to see the hollow emptiness in my gaze.
Maturity is a light that is bright yet not dazzling, a sound that is mellow yet not jarring, a composure that no longer pleads with the outside world, and a height that is not steep.
Invest time in your soul. When the soul is filled with worldly distractions, people lose themselves in their inability to let go, failing to find the true meaning of life. The more we cling to what we cannot bear to lose, the less we truly possess; sometimes, even when we obtain what we desire, it is merely a formality.
You encounter things because of who you are, and you meet people because they are meant for you. Life is composed of both pain and joy. We face two great dilemmas: changing others or changing ourselves. Demanding change from others is painful, while changing ourselves brings peace. To change others, one must first change oneself!
Do not be too extreme in your actions, for it leaves no room for retreat. Life is a drama filled with joys and sorrows, with little going exactly as planned, for we are not the directors of fate.
Devout people may travel across mountains and rivers to please their gods, unaware that helping the poor and hungry at their own doorstep might please the divine more. If God is omnipresent, He must be right there, just outside their door.
People flee to the mountains to escape the problems of family, city, and society in search of inner peace. But if one seeks peace within, how can it ever be found outside?
