Everyone longs for success, but the path to achievement is often long and arduous. What sustains us through this journey? It is persistence.
Persistence is the walking stick that supports us as we climb the peaks of success.
No matter the circumstances, never give up; perhaps success lies just around the next corner. Even a tiny, insignificant seed can grow into a towering tree under the inspiration of persistent belief.
There is an inspiring story of Jean-Dominique Bodin, a French journalist who became paralyzed and lost his ability to speak after a heart attack. His left eye was the only part of his body he could still move. Despite his condition, he remained determined to complete and publish the work he had begun before falling ill. The publisher assigned an assistant, Mendibaud, to spend six hours each day transcribing his thoughts.
Since Bodin could only communicate by blinking, they developed a method: Mendibaud would read the alphabet in order, and Bodin would blink to select the letters. Because Bodin had to rely on his memory to identify words, the process was initially very slow, with only one page completed per day, though it eventually increased to three pages. After months of arduous effort, they finally completed his 150-page book, titled "The Diving Suit and the Butterfly." It is estimated that Bodin blinked his left eye over 200,000 times to complete this work.
As long as a person remains persistent, there is nothing in this world they cannot achieve. The miracles we witness are often the results of someone's day-in, day-out, year-after-year of hard work and dedication. Regardless of how difficult the situation, as long as you never give up, the hope for success will always remain.
