The Importance of Thinking

Some people act and speak without much thought. Newspapers have frequently reported cases of street scams involving fake gold ingots, and those deceived invariably lack basic judgment. When discussing stock investing, Warren Buffett once said that he doesn't rely on what the newspapers say, but only on common sense. Some people prefer to simply follow what others say without ever thinking for themselves, constantly repeating phrases like "My mother said..." or "My mother told me...". While not thinking might seem to save some trouble in the short term, this habit could cost you dearly when real challenges arise.
