An Indian fable tells a story.

A water carrier carried two pots; one was perfect, while the other had a crack. The perfect pot always delivered its full contents to the master's house, but the cracked pot arrived with only half its water remaining. The perfect pot felt proud of its perfection, while the cracked pot felt ashamed of its flaw.

The water carrier said to the cracked pot, "Notice the beautiful flowers along the path. I planted seeds on your side of the road, and every day, on our journey back from the stream, you have been watering them." It was the water leaking from that crack that allowed those flowers to grow and beautify our path. While it is good to strive for perfection, if we can leave a little space for the flowers around us—a little room to nourish others—our world will surely become more colorful and beautiful.

However, we must distinguish between a "crack" and a "hole." A crack is a gap, but a hole is a crisis, much like a leaking roof that needs urgent repair. In life, we possess many ways to patch up imperfections, but the challenge lies in the fact that many critical flaws remain hidden. A wise craftsman, when repairing a pot, does not rush to hammer in a nail. Instead, they first tap lightly around the crack with a small hammer to detect potential defects, making the real problem clear before attempting to fix it. Similarly, in many aspects of life, we do not lack "adhesives" to cover up mistakes; what we lack are the eyes to see the true leaks. Frequently, we patch the visible cracks while the underlying holes continue to drain our essence.
